Luxury fashion giant LVMH is being sued over patented NFT technology for watches
A company that sells smartwatch surface designs through immutable tokens has sued LVMH, accusing the luxury fashion group of patent infringement. In a complaint filed in federal court in Texas on March 10, Watch Skins accused LVMH of misappropriating its "groundbreaking NFT display technology".
Watch Skins claims to have developed a unique system that allows users to display verified NFT artwork on smartwatches and holds several patents related to the technology. The company claims that a smartwatch from LVMH's TAG Heuer and other products from the group's brands illegally used NFT display technology based on three patents owned by Watch Skins.
