Robert Lo, head of securities product development at HKEx, said there are ten virtual asset ETPs to choose from, including the first six virtual asset spot ETFs in Asia (listed in April this year), and the first three virtual asset futures ETFs in Asia (listed in late 2022 and early 2023). As of the end of July, the market capitalization of Hong Kong's virtual asset ETP market has exceeded 3.60 billion yuan, reflecting investor demand for products, and this area has growth potential. In addition, the theme ETF market in Hong Kong continues to expand. With the launch of new ETFs investing in different topics such as artificial intelligence and automation, digital payments, and Web3, the average daily turnover of thematic ETFs has increased to more than 2 billion yuan in the first seven months of this year, and the asset management scale as of the end of July has reached 63.30 billion yuan.
