Galaxy Research: Bitcoin L2 project financing reached $447 million
On November 22nd, according to Galaxy Research data, since 2018, the Bitcoin Layer 2 (L2) project has received a total of 447 million US dollars in financing, accounting for more than 36% in 2024 alone. The report pointed out that about 0.8% of BTC liquidity is currently locked in L2, packaging assets and pledge agreements, and this proportion is expected to increase to 2.3% by 2030, corresponding to about 47 billion US dollars of BTC liquidity.
The number of Bitcoin L2 projects has increased from 10 to 75 since 2021. Existing L2 solutions mainly include sidechains and Rollups technology, in which Rollups significantly improves transaction speed and reduces costs through data compression and batch processing. The report emphasizes that Bitcoin L2 provides more efficient transaction and income applications for BTC, but the current bridge mechanism and the trust issue of asset exit still need to be optimized.
