Marathon Digital mine manager acquitted of noise violation charges in North Texas

On July 13, David Fischer, a plant manager at a bitcoin mine owned by U.S. miner Marathon Digital, was acquitted of 12 counts of noise violations in North Texas. According to Hood County Police Officer John Shirley, more than 40 nearby citizens filed complaints about noise levels at the facility, saying they exceeded 85 decibels and could cause public health problems. The defendants argued that the noise level readings were exaggerated. Another problem in the case was that the noise summons was for Fischer, and the jury had difficulty connecting the manager to the root cause of the noise problem and how much he could mitigate it.
