Caitlyn Jenner to Launch Olympic Gold Medal-Inspired MEDAL Token on Base Network
According to Decrypt, Caitlyn Jenner will launch a token project called MEDAL on the Ethereum Layer-2 network Base. The project will launch on Thursday, giving investors the opportunity to own the digital portion of the Olympic gold medal she won in 1976 by splitting it. The MEDAL token supply is 100 million, mapping the provable metadata of a legal contract signed by Caitlyn Jenner that holds the actual Olympic gold medal.
Jenner stated that the project is an innovative attempt on her part in the crypto space and hopes to take the opportunity to bring positive attention to the crypto industry. While the MEDAL token represents the value of the gold medal, it does not give ownership of the actual item. Jenner also mentioned that JENNER coin holders will be involved in the project, but did not disclose specific details. Jenner previously launched JENNER coin in May and said that she will continue to be active in the crypto space, dedicated to helping more people understand and participate in cryptocurrencies.
