Wu Jiezhuang: Virtual banks should increase diversified services, and Hong Kong should establish a virtual asset bank as soon as possible
On August 9, a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, Wu Jiezhuang, posted on social media: "HKMA released a report on virtual banking earlier. I commend the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government for supporting the upgrading of banking services and the development of virtual banks in the past few years, but at the same time my team made an opinion on Web3's use of banking services in Hong Kong. The survey revealed that Web3 had difficulties opening accounts, which prevented it from developing its business effectively. Therefore, I will present at today's press conference:
1. Virtual banks should increase their diversity of services and develop in a dislocation with traditional banks.
2. Hong Kong should establish a virtual asset/digital asset bank as soon as possible or upgrade a virtual bank to manage virtual assets in order to support the development of Web3 by the SAR government.
3. Hong Kong should accelerate the development of the Web3 ecosystem. At present, the virtual asset policy has become the focus of global government discussions. If we want to strive to become a Web3 center in Hong Kong, we should promote the whole chain and ecological development as soon as possible. "
