US lawmakers are calling for an investigation into whether Musk is using Tesla resources to profit his companies
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has asked Tesla's board to investigate whether CEO Elon Musk is using the electric carmaker's resources to benefit other companies he owns and operates. In a 10-page letter sent to Tesla Chairperson Robyn Denholm on Thursday, the Democratic senator said Musk's actions, such as transferring computer chips from Tesla to his social media company, X Corp., may have been inappropriate. Musk confirmed in June that he was redirecting artificial intelligence chips ordered for Tesla to X Corp. and xAI Corp., saying they would otherwise remain in warehouses. Ms Warren argued that moving the chips could be a "misappropriation of company resources" and said the creation of xAI itself was an "inevitable conflict of interest" for Mr. Musk.
