US media: Young voters prefer Harris to deal with economic issues, more support than Trump
On August 11, according to a report by Jin Ten, a new survey by CNBC and Generation Lab shows that young Americans do not seem to believe that Harris is responsible for the deterioration of the US economy caused by the Biden administration. After Biden dropped out of the race in July, 69% of Americans aged 18 to 34 believe that the economy under President Biden is deteriorating. But they also believe that the candidate most capable of improving the economy is the de facto Democratic candidate Harris, not the Republican candidate and former President Trump. Forty-one percent of respondents said Harris was the best candidate on the economy, while 40 percent picked Trump and 19 percent said a third-party candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Democrats' approval ratings on the economy rose 7 points from the May survey, when only 34 percent said Biden, then a likely Democratic presidential nominee, was the best candidate to boost the economy, while 40 percent chose Trump and 25 percent chose Kennedy.
