Hong Kong Fintech Association: None of the eight Hong Kong virtual banks have yet to break even
Wang Yue, the new chairperson of the Hong Kong Fintech Association, said in an interview that the digital experience of the banking industry has improved significantly in the past six years, especially for retail banks, but none of the eight virtual banks have yet to break even. James DiBiasio, director of the Hong Kong Fintech Association, believes that the current situation should not be complacent and needs the continued support of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to achieve the sustainable development of virtual silver; Hong Kong should accelerate the data sharing process, especially the opening of application program interfaces (APIs), and promote cooperation between fintech companies, virtual silver and traditional banks to accelerate the innovation of virtual silver and promote the development of the industry.
