Cryptocurrency proponent Yassamin Ansari has narrowly won the Arizona congressional primary
Yassamin Ansari, a pro-cryptocurrency Democratic candidate, narrowly defeated Raquel Terán, backed by Senator Elizabeth Warren, in Arizona's Third District by 39 votes. The result was confirmed on Tuesday after a recount. Ansari, a former deputy mayor of Phoenix, will run in a strongly Democratic district in the general election and is therefore likely to be one of the members of Congress who support friendly regulation of the US digital asset industry.
The cryptocurrency industry's main political action committee, Fairshake, provided about $1.40 million in ad support for Ansari's campaign and plans to continue supporting up to 21 congressional elections in the November general election.
