Chinese police extradite alleged offenders involved in the issuance of virtual digital currency from Thailand, involving more than 100 billion yuan
According to the official account of Anjian, the head of the Central Political and Legal Committee, with the strong assistance of relevant domestic departments, the embassy in Thailand and the Thai law enforcement department, the "Fox Hunt Operation" working group of the Ministry of Public Security successfully extradited Zhang Moumou, an alleged offender suspected of organizing and leading pyramid schemes, from Thailand. This case is the first economic alleged offender extradited by China from Thailand after the China-Thailand extradition treaty came into effect in 1999.
It is understood that since 2012, the MBI Group, headed by alleged offender Zhang Moumou, has required participants to pay fees ranging from 700 yuan to 245,000 yuan to obtain platform membership by issuing virtual digital currency, and has used high rebates as bait to develop the number of members and the amount of invested funds as a means of payment or rebate. The group has developed more than 10 million members and involved more than 100 billion yuan in funds.
