On June 12, the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission held a briefing for virtual asset trading platform applicants on June 12, 2024. There were more than 60 participants, including representatives of virtual asset trading platform applicants who were considered to be licensed and their advisors. Dr. Ip Chi Heng, Executive Director of the Intermediaries Division of the Securities Supervision Commission, and Ms. Huang Lexin, Director of the Licensing Division and Head of the Financial Technology Unit, outlined the competencies these applicants should possess, and explained to them the license application process and its on-site inspection procedures.
