Members of the Russian State Duma have called for a ban on the websites of major French companies
Vladislav Davankov, deputy chairperson of the Russian State Duma, has called on Russia's Federal Service for the Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media to immediately block the websites of major French companies operating in Russia. Durov, the founder of the social media "Telegram", was detained by French intelligence services at Le Bourget airport in Paris on August 24 as he was disembarking from a private plane. Durov was summoned for not cooperating with French authorities. He could face a 20-year prison sentence in France.
