The Ethereum Foundation's Q4 grant surged to $30 million last year

Ignas DeFi posted on the X platform. The Ethereum Foundation allocated $30 million in the 4th quarter of 2023. While in the 3rd quarter of 2023, they allocated $8.90 million. EF allocated grants for education and niche (but cool) products that may not be supported by a large number of VCs. This could explain why they are reluctant to fund the DeFi protocol because they would have received external funding from VCs anyway. However, there is a lack of comprehensive, transparent reporting of total spending. The latest report is for 2021 and shows a total spending of $48 million for internal spending and external grants and bonuses. The largest expenses are: $21 million for L1 R & D 9.70 million $for community development, including grants and education 5.10 million $for internal operations (salaries, legal fees, etc.) Therefore, 10% of the total expenditure in 2021 will be used to pay developer salaries and support the maintenance of EF. Previously, the executive director of the Ethereum Foundation said that the deposit of 35,000 ETH into Kraken was part of a financial management activity.
