Sky Lianchuang: There is no freezing function for the launch of USDS, freezing the process or being decided by a decentralized court
Sky (formerly Maker) co-founder Rune said on September 4 that Sky's new crypto stablecoin USDS may have a court-like decentralized appeals process as part of its freeze feature. USDS will not have a freeze feature when it launches, but it can be upgraded if the governing body decides to add it. If the feature does go live, those USDS users who are frozen can "use the power of decentralized governance to ensure due process and other matters" transparently.
Rune said it was "unclear" when or if the USDS freeze would go live - but it would require "very careful legal, political and regulatory analysis and obviously a very thorough design process by the decentralized Sky governing body".
