Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission publishes new guide highlighting practical licensing options for visiting and returning professionals
The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has published two new simple reference guides to help visiting and returning professionals understand the practical licensing system of the Securities Supervision Commission. The two new guides complement the five popular simple reference guides published in 2023, providing practical information on licensing options and licensing procedures and various examination exemption conditions, supplemented by case studies to facilitate the smooth transition of relevant professionals to Hong Kong financial marekt in compliance.
Dr. Ip Chi Heng, Executive Director of the Intermediaries Division of the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission, said that the number of financial industry professionals coming to Hong Kong is on the rise, and the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission also provides a pragmatic licensing system to meet the demand. The first series of guides published earlier was very popular, and in order to continue to enrich the financial talent pool in Hong Kong, these two new guides have been developed to further help practitioners and potential applicants grasp the expectations of the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission and the main points of licensing requirements.
