Opinion: BTC has surpassed the U.S. stock market since the decoupling of the dollar and gold in trading hours
Bitcoin currently trades for more than 123,000 hours, surpassing the opening hours of the US stock market since the decoupling of the US dollar from gold. Since August 15, 1971, when President Nixon implemented the decoupling of the US dollar from gold in response to high inflation and cancelled the international exchange of the US dollar and gold, the US stock market has been open for more than 100,700 hours. Bitcoin, launched in 2009, officially surpassed the US stock market in terms of trading hours, exceeding the trading hours of public stocks in the era of full fiat currencies by nearly 25%.
