Web3 protocol ARPA Network plans to launch native re-staking rewards as early as September
ARPA Network, a Web 3 protocol built on EigenLayer, plans to start awarding rewards to re-pledgers in its native token, ARPA, as early as September. "If everything goes well, we will launch [ARPA rewards] at the end of September, and if it doesn't go well, then it will definitely launch in October," Jason Zhao, head of business development, told Cointelegraph.
In a statement, ARPA CEO Felix Xu said that in addition to native token rewards, ARPA is also testing an "incentive program to provide additional EIGEN reward boosts for our stakeholders and operators". This will be the first time that EigenLayer's third-party Active Verification Service (AVS) pays re-holders to secure and validate its network. EigenLayer's in-house AVS, EigenDA, has already paid re-pledgers in wETH.
