Layer 1 blockchain Zilliqa has announced the launch of the Jasper prototype testnet for Zilliqa 2.0, the first version of its new upgrade network roadmap designed to drive large-scale adoption of Web3. The Jasper prototype test network introduces Zilliqa 2.0's new "Proof-of-Stake" consensus mechanism, which enables lightning-fast transactions at low cost while remaining energy efficient and scalable to the needs of enterprises and developers around the world. Early versions of the Zilliqa 2.0 network allow developers and validators to explore new network enhancements, experiment with running validator nodes, and earn rewards for helping to ensure cyber security.
