Agency: financial marekt likely to remain volatile ahead of U.S. election
Lewis Grant, senior manager of the global equity portfolio at Federated Hermes, said the financial marekt was likely to continue to be volatile as the US election approached because of uncertainty over the outcome. The first presidential debate between Democratic nominee Harris and Republican nominee Trump offered little substantive policy clarity, he said. "Uncertainty around which candidates' economic agendas will take effect - and even what those agendas actually are - will weigh on market sentiment."
Federated Hermes expects further market volatility ahead of the Federal Reserve's meeting next week and the US election. "In the short term, markets will react quickly to changes in the US election and macro outlook." (Jin Ten)
