Electricity bills spike by $300 per household after Norwegian town bans bitcoin mining
Dennis Porter, co-founder of Satoshi Action Fund, said on the X platform that after a town in Norway banned bitcoin mining, electricity bills per household rose by $300, an increase of more than 25%. After the ban was implemented, the drop in electricity demand in the region caused remaining users to bear higher electricity bills to compensate for the loss of revenue caused by the withdrawal of mining companies. The change has raised concerns about cost-sharing of electricity infrastructure.
