Linux Launches Decentralized Trust with Hedera and Over 100 Members
Linux Foundation created a trust as an umbrella organization for open source in the decentralized ecosystem. The Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LFDT) debuted with over 100 members, including all members of the Hyperledger Foundation, Hedera, and 13 other new members.
Hedera is a leading member of the trust, at the same level as Accenture, DTCC and Hitachi. Hedera contributes its entire source code, including its hashgraph consensus algorithm, to LFDT, which will be called Project Hiero. Hedera source code governance will be transferred to the Linux Foundation, while the Hedera Council will retain operational governance of the network.
