El Salvador's president will not issue debt to finance the 2025 budget
El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele, has revealed part of his plan to boost his country's economy, one of his biggest goals in his second term. In a speech marking the country's independence, Bukele said next year's budget would be self-funded and no debt would be issued to keep the government running.
Nayib Bukele said El Salvador would not even pay interest on its debt by issuing more debt during this period, stressing that all payments would be made using self-financing.
