SEC chairperson: the simplification of artificial intelligence tools will bring risks to the financial industry
Gary Gensler, chairperson of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), said the overuse of the same kind of artificial intelligence systems by too many brokerages and fund managers could set the stage for future turmoil. Gensler said Wednesday that future financial crises could occur if market participants "all rely on the same models, the same algorithms, the same data."
