Binance CEO: The working group is making every effort to free Tigran Gambaryan, hoping that the United States can make Gambaryan illegally detained
Richard Teng, chief executive of Binance, said his team had been working "around the clock" to bring Tigran Gambaryan, an executive arrested in Nigeria, back to the US because of his deteriorating health. "We have repeatedly called on the Nigerian government to release Tigran so he can return home and receive the proper treatment he needs."
"There is no need to detain our employee. He has been unjustly and unfairly detained," Mr. Teng said at the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore on September 19.
For Binance, this is our top priority. We have a working group within us working around the clock to find different avenues, from legal to political [to help Tigran return home]. "Teng hopes the US can make Gambaryan illegally detained to speed up the process. He added that Binance is also trying to call on the Nigerian government to release Tigran on humanitarian grounds. He also claims that Gambaryan has twice contracted malaria and pneumonia since being held in Nigeria. His deteriorating health even caused him to suddenly faint during his court appearance in May.
