Do Kwon extradition case referred to Montenegro's Minister of Justice
Montenegro's Supreme Court has ruled that South Korea and the United States have met the conditions for the extradition of Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon, and the case has now been referred to the justice minister for decision. Kwon, who faces US-South Korean charges for his alleged involvement in the 2022 Terra collapse, was arrested in Montenegro last year and sentenced to four months for using forged documents. His legal status since his release is unknown.
In the US, a jury found Kwon and his company guilty of defrauding investors and the parties agreed to pay about $4.50 billion in damages. South Korean authorities have filed charges against several individuals linked to Kwon and approved the extradition of former CFO Han Chang-joon to South Korea.
