Viewpoint: Rollup-centric roadmap allows developers to experiment with different execution environments, conducive to innovation
Anthony Sassano (@sassal0x), founder of The Daily Gwei, posted on X: "In my opinion, the most exciting thing about the rollup-centric roadmap is that it allows for unlimited experimentation (scaling is also important, but this is L2's bargaining chip).
L2 is not limited by L1 and can experiment with different execution environments (and many other things) while benefiting from the huge network effects of Ethereum.
This makes Ethereum a "black hole" for innovation. In the past, people had to enter another L1 when they wanted to build a non-EVM protocol. Now they can stay in Ethereum's orbit and experiment as much as they like.
Of course, most of these experiments may not get enough attention, but the point is that we can now conduct these experiments in the Ethereum ecosystem - without the exodus of developers and users to other ecosystems due to non-EVM attempts.
Optimistic about the Ethereum ecosystem is a hotbed of innovation and experimentation in the crypto field. "
