Prediction platform Polymarket considers raising over $50 million in token funding
According to sources, decentralized crypto prediction platform Polymarket is considering raising more than $50 million through a token offering to support its platform operations. Investors in this fundraising will receive token warrants, giving investors the right to purchase tokens in the event of a future token offering. However, Polymarket has not yet made a final decision, and there is still no clear timeline for the token offering.
In May, Polymarket closed a $45 million Series B round led by Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, with other notable investors including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. The platform is currently attracting nearly $1 billion in bets, with a focus on major events such as the 2024 US Presidential Election.
