The number of wallets holding 0.0001 BTC or less has increased by 75% in the past 52 weeks.
BitInfo Charts data shows that the number of wallets holding 1,000 or more BTC has increased by nearly 3.5% in the last 52 weeks, while the number of wallets holding 0.0001 or less BTC has increased by 75%, while the number of wallets holding 1 to 10 BTC appears to be shrinking. Specifically, the number of wallets holding 1 to 10 BTC decreased by 0.35%, while the number of wallets holding 10 to 100 BTC decreased by more than 3%. The only group that did not grow was wallets holding 100,000 and more BTC.
On the other hand, the number of wallets holding 10,000 and more BTC decreased by 3.88%, while the number of wallets holding 1,000 to 10,000 BTC increased by 3.43%. It is important to note that the wallets mentioned in the above data do not necessarily represent individual BTC users. Many wallets can be associated with the same individual or organization, others may be abandoned wallets.
From a statistical standpoint, this suggests that a large percentage of wallets holding BTC in the middle have fallen back from a range of 1 to 100 to near zero. If that's the case, a large percentage of wallets with BTC values between $26,542 and $2,654,200 as of October 2023 have reduced their holdings over the past year. On the plus side, the number of wallets holding $1 million worth of BTC has increased by about 25% since the beginning of 2024.
