Vitalik: ZK-VMs do not implement privacy because the current client-side prover is not fast enough
On September 24th, Vitalik, the co-founder of Ethereum, replied on the social platform that the only use case that ZK-VM has not implemented is privacy, which is ironic. During the discussion, he said that the explanation is actually very simple: privacy use cases require the client side to generate proofs, but the current client-side proofs are not fast enough to handle other complex tasks besides Merkle branches.
