Russian police shut down a suspected cross-border cryptocurrency exchange
On September 25, police in Moscow, Russia, shut down a "cross-border" cryptocurrency exchange pretending to be a travel agency, suspected of helping customers transfer funds abroad.
Police said the exchange handled about $2.20 million in cryptocurrency transactions for Russian clients and charged a 1 percent commission. The Interior Ministry seized a large amount of cash, receipts and equipment during the raid.
Police have charged a "mastermind" and the case is still under investigation, as they search for other accomplices.
