Former US officials protested before the United Nations, calling for the release of Binance executives detained in Nigeria
A group of former U.S. government employees and compliance officials now working in the cryptocurrency industry have protested in front of the United Nations in solidarity with Binance Financial Crimes compliance chief Tigran Gambaryan, who has been detained in Nigeria since February. Gambaryan is on trial for money laundering and is being held in the notorious Kuje prison, where his health has deteriorated. Amanda Wick, a former federal prosecutor who organized the protest, stressed that Gambaryan had worked for the U.S. government as an IRS criminal investigator.
