The founder of Telegram has released details of the arrest in France, saying that after hours of routine questioning by the police
Telegram founder Pavel Durov revealed details of his arrest in France in a post on his personal channel. He claimed that he was still in the Paris police station on August 27, 2024 and stayed there for three days without equipment or internet access. It felt like an extreme digital detox, while also being questioned by the police for hours.
Pavel Durov also said he had remained calm in police custody but was caught off guard by the development of events because his lover Julia was pregnant and luckily released the next night. He said some bloggers spread rumors that Julia was a "Mossad agent", while others raised the absurd idea that it was her social media posts (rather than her charter information) that prompted the police to greet me at the airport.
