Department of Justice Seizes Nearly 2.70 million Dollar Cryptocurrency
On October 7th, according to The Block, the Department of Justice has frozen $2.67 million worth of cryptocurrency linked to the North Korean hacking group LazarusGroup. According to the US government, the funds were successfully tracked through mixers such as Tornado Cash and were frozen in the process of money laundering by North Korean hackers, including the recovery of about $1.70 million worth of Tether from the Deribit hack in November 2022 and the recovery of about $970,000 worth of Avalanche Bridge Bitcoin BTC.b from the Stake.com hack in September 2023.
