A US judge has ordered Google to open its app store to increase competition
Google's parent company Alphabet Inc. must lift restrictions to allow developers to build marketplaces that compete with its Google Play Store, a US judge has ruled, upending Google's dominance of the lucrative Android app store. A federal judge in San Francisco ruled in favour of Epic Games Inc. on Monday in its long-running antitrust lawsuit against Google's app store.
Google said it will appeal the decision in the Epic Games antitrust case; it will ask the court to suspend the injunction of the October 7 ruling.
