It is unclear whether digital assets will be the subject of the debate between the two candidates. GBHNews said it will not share these topics in advance. During Warren's tenure, she has been an outspoken critic of cryptocurrencies, linking digital assets to the funding of illegal activities. Deaton is a lawyer who has backed Ripple and other crypto companies facing lawsuits from the U.S. SEC. Several polls in September showed Warren leading Deaton by more than 20 percentage points in the election, which many expect to be a referendum on cryptocurrency policy. Deaton took to social media to claim that the SEC is "pursuing an anti-crypto agenda" through enforcement actions and to criticize SEC Chairperson Gary Gensler.
