Linea Forum Launches Decentralization Proposal
On October 8, the Linea Forum of the Ethereum L2 Network launched a proposal for the decentralization of Linea. The proposal states that its goal is to make Linea a fully decentralized L2 chain, and outlines some important proposals to achieve this goal, including decentralization of block verification, recovery mode, block proponents, finalization of Linea blocks on L1, reward distribution, and more.
The proposal states that in order to decouple reward distribution from the consensus protocol, validators would need to build a consensus-state Merkle tree that represents the different operations performed by each participant, including voting and block proposals.
