The total amount of cumulative financing in the crypto industry in ten years has exceeded 100 billion US dollars
On June 17, according to Cointelegraph, crypto startups have raised more than $100 billion since the end of May 2014. Despite the ups and downs caused by regulatory uncertainty and market volatility, the industry has raised both the upper and lower limits of funding in the past four years. According to DefiLlama data, as of June 16, 2024, the total amount of funding in the cryptocurrency industry reached $101.35 billion. Back in May 2014, industry startups raised only $17.14 million in their first month. Ten years later, in May 2024, the monthly amount of funding increased to $280.25 million, which is higher than ten years ago, but much lower than the previous month's $777.11 million.
Cryptocurrency startup funding reached an all-time high of over $7 billion in October 2021, with a second peak of $3.67 billion in February 2022. Research shows that nearly half of cryptocurrency funding comes from US investors, with the UK and Singapore ranking second and third. Companies such as Together.AI, Wormhole, Totter, Eigenlayer, Swan Bitcoin, and Blockchain.com have recently received high funding.
