Report: Ethereum Pectra upgrade will bring multiple risks, including concerns about client side, carrier and cloud diversity
On June 17, as Ethereum is about to undergo a Pectra upgrade in early 2025, Liquid Collective and Obol have released a new research report that reveals multiple risks associated with the upgrade. The report highlights the importance of client side, carrier and cloud diversity, while also raising concerns about the limited adoption of distributed validator technology (DVT). Matt Leisinger, chief product officer at Alluvial, a software development company that supports Liquid Collective, said that addressing the risks associated with Ethereum staking and protocol level penalties has become a priority. The Ethereum-related risk research report by Obol and Liquid Collective has attracted widespread attention, although the media has tried to contact the Ethereum Foundation, but has not yet received a response.
