The three major U.S. stock indexes all turned red, with the Dow expanding to 0.57 percent. Bank stocks rose, with Wells Fargo (WFC. N) up 5.7 percent, Bank of America (BAC. N), JPMorgan Chase (JPM. N) up more than 5 percent, Citigroup (C. N) up more than 3 percent, and Bank of New York Mellon (BK. N) up more than 2 percent.
