Arkham: Tesla Moves Its Whole Bitcoin Reserves to Multiple New Addresses
According to on-chain data tracked by analytics firm Arkham Research, Tesla has moved 11,509 bitcoins (worth about $770 million) to the new address, which appears to be the company's entire remaining bitcoin reserve.
The transfers took place in the past hour, and were preceded by six test transactions by Tesla, the first time Tesla has interacted with its bitcoin wallet since it sold most of its assets in 2022.
The company invested $1.50 billion in bitcoin in February 2021. The purpose of the transfer is unclear. Some in the community believe that the company may be ready to sell. Tesla will report its third-quarter financial results after the market closes on October 23.
