The US federal judge has released evidence in the Trump election immunity lawsuit

US federal judge Tanya Chutkan released evidence in Trump's election immunity lawsuit on October 18 local time, failing to delay the publication until after the US Presidential Election on November 5. Previously, the US Supreme Court ruled on July 1 that Trump enjoys a certain degree of immunity from criminal prosecution in federal cases of alleged "interference in the 2020 election", but is not entitled to immunity from prosecution for actions taken in a private capacity, and directed lower courts to reconsider the case and determine which acts are "acts of public office" that cannot be prosecuted. The ruling means that the case will take time to move forward. It is widely believed in the US media that Trump is unlikely to stand trial before the presidential election in November this year.
