The Economist Magazine Predicts Trump Will Win the US Presidential Election
Less than two weeks before the US Presidential Election Day in 2024, the British magazine The Economist's latest forecast that former US president and Republican candidate Trump will win the election is the first time the magazine's forecasting model has predicted Trump's election since August. According to the forecast data, Trump is expected to receive 276 electoral votes in next month's election, and US Vice President and Democratic candidate Harris will receive 262 votes. The estimated probability of Trump winning the election is 54%, an increase of 6 percentage points from the past week. The forecasting model used by The Economist refers to recent polls, as well as the economic conditions, demographics and voter preferences of each US state.
