Argentina Drafts New Cryptocurrency Regulations to Regulate VASP Operations
Argentina is innovating its cryptocurrency framework. Argentina's securities regulator (CNV) recently announced a public consultation on a draft to regulate the operations of virtual asset service providers (VASPs) in the country, imposing new compliance requirements on these institutions. If Resolution 1025 is approved, it will force cryptocurrency companies to disclose their agreements with third parties and clients. In addition, it also seeks to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing by developing policies and cyber security norms. The framework is a follow-up to the VASP registration that was launched earlier this year.
