Argentina's Capital Launches Blockchain-Based Digital Identity for 3.60 million Residents
On October 23, Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, announced the implementation of blockchain and zero-knowledge encryption technology for the issuance of digital identities. According to local media reports, the government disclosed on October 21 that it has integrated the decentralized identity solution Quark ID into its miBA digital platform, which is used by the city to access government services and documents.
Since October 1, more than 3.6 million active miBA users have received decentralized digital identities (DID) protected by Quark ID, a digital identity protocol built by Extrimian, a Web3 company. The Quark ID wallet is powered by ZKsyncEra.
