ZachXBT: Yicong Wang over the counter has helped Lazarus Group launder tens of millions of dollars
On-chain detective ZachXBT posted that OTC trader Yicong Wang (Wang Yicong) has helped Lazarus Group convert tens of millions of cryptocurrencies stolen by various hackers into cash through bank transfers since 2022. A few months ago, a follower contacted ZachXBT after his trading account was frozen after completing a P2P transaction with OTC Wang Yicong (using aliases such as Seawang, Greatdtrader, and BestRhea977). He then shared one of Wang Yicong's Tron wallet addresses with him from a screenshot of the WeChat conversation. When looking at the blockchain data related to Wang Yicong, it can be noticed that there is a high risk of illicit funds from Irys co-founder Alex Labs. Alex Labs was hacked by Lazarus Group in May 2024 and lost about $4.50 million. The 948K Ethereum address blacklisted by Tether in August 2024 is also directly related to Wang Yicong. It is obvious from the chain that he is still actively helping Lazarus Group in the past few weeks.
