Meta will use Reuters' news content in AI chatbots
Meta Platforms said on Friday that its artificial intelligence chatbots will use content from Reuters to answer users' questions about news and current events in real time, the latest collaboration between big tech companies and news publishers in artificial intelligence. Neither Meta nor Thomson Reuters, the parent company of Reuters, disclosed financial details of the partnership. It would be the company's first news deal in years. Facebook's parent company has been reducing news content on its service after regulators and publishers criticized misinformation and disagreements over revenue sharing. "We can confirm that Reuters has worked with technology providers to license our trusted, fact-based news content to power their artificial intelligence platforms," a Reuters spokesperson said in a statement. "The terms of these deals remain confidential."
