NEAR AI releases master plan: Open-source and user-owned AGI will be implemented in three phases
On June 19, NEAR founder Illia Polosukhin released the research and development laboratory NEAR AI master plan. NEAR AI will implement open-source and user-owned AGI in three stages, namely AI Developer (teaching machines to code), AI Researcher (using AI Developer to teach machines to conduct research), and using AI researchers to promote scientific development and move towards universal AGI shared by the whole people.
According to Illia Polosukhin, the development of NEAR AI will always be open source, providing the wider community with software, datasets, and models to further develop other products. We will need a range of infrastructures that go beyond the core blockchain primitives: peer-to-peer communication, edge data and inference, decentralized data storage, private computing, and much more. We will need more developers than ever to actually write code to train models. All of this will only be possible by participating in the entire NEAR ecosystem and leveraging the existing NEAR token economy.
