US intelligence investigates Russian mailboxes linked to election day bomb threat in Georgia

US intelligence officials are investigating an email account using a Russian internet domain that they suspect may have been the source of an uncredible election day bomb threat in Georgia, with investigators believing some of the threat may have originated in Russia, according to people familiar with the matter. While the email address may have been falsified, American officials have not confirmed that the threats came from Russia, but they are analyzing the mailbox's history of activity to determine the true source of the threats. Some polling stations in Union City, near Atlanta, were temporarily closed because of the non-credible threats. Brad Raffensperger, Georgia's secretary of state, said state officials had received threats from Russia, but did not elaborate on the basis.
