Trump transition officials warn Justice Department staff not to "resist."
A lawyer who helped President-elect Trump form a new administration warned Department of Justice staffers on Monday that they could be fired if they try to resist the Republican agenda. "If these Department of Justice staffers are not acting in good faith to carry out President Trump's plans, they should leave. Those employees who engage in so-called'resistance 'to the legitimate agenda of the legitimately elected president will subvert American democracy," Mark Paoletta, a Schaerr Jaffe attorney who led Trump's Justice Department transition team, wrote in an article on X. "Those who take such actions will be subject to disciplinary action, including termination," he added.
